M249 spray pattern

In Counter-Strike 2, the M249 climbs almost straight up for the first 3 rounds, drifts right, then zigzags side to side. Here's the shape, the numbers, and how to control it — then drill it into muscle memory on SprayTrace.

M249 recoil control path — Counter-Strike 2aim Real pattern

Your mouse path — start on the crosshair and follow it down. The bullets climb the opposite way; this is the movement that cancels them.

How to control it

Controlling the M249 spray

  1. Pull down to cancel the climb. The M249 rises about 13.4° over its first burst — drag straight down to keep the crosshair on target as it climbs.
  2. Counter the horizontal sweep. After the climb the pattern swings 7.0° across — the spray pulls left, so ease right first, then come back left as it sweeps right.
  3. Reset between bursts. Recoil fully resets after about 0.45s off the trigger — tap-fire or burst at range, spray up close.
  4. Drill it to muscle memory. At 750 RPM a full 100-round spray plays out in ~8.0s. Trace it in SprayTrace at 20% speed, then ramp to full, then go Blind.
